One Year In.

I started to build my Life Leadership community in October of 2014, and sponsored my first LIFE member almost exactly a year ago. If you join any type of community building type of business you’re not really a business owner until you sponsor someone yourself!

So now I’m a year in.

This has been a fascinating journey, and a hell of a learning curve!

This past Tuesday (for the first time) I got to present the LIFE business plan to a conference room full of people at the Holiday Inn in Sarasota. This was a big milestone, just one year ago I was attending these open meetings and sitting in the back, feeling like a dork and not sure if I could make the business work.

In order to present the LIFE business at an open meeting I had to hit a specific level in the business, and speaking at the Tuesday open was a BIG incentive for me to hit that level.

In the past year I’ve listened to hundreds of audio CDs, read books daily, learned how to build a LIFE business, then went out  and sponsored people. Some people told me “no”, some people flaked on me, but now there are over 120 people on my team and new members are being added every week!

If we could get 120 people involved in the first year how big will this be in another 12 months? How about 5 years from now, or a decade? Could I build a community of 1,000 people? How about 10,000?

There are 2.1 million people just here in Tampa Bay…

Some great leaders have emerged in both of my teams, and my efforts are being duplicated, thanks to the LIFE marketing system and the leadership training via books, audios and live seminars.

These last 12 months I’ve also paid off a large chunk of debt, ran Balloon Distractions on a daily basis, and ended my (decades long) relationship with alcohol. The manager who ran our Balloon Distractions team here in Tampa moved to California in March, so I also took over her role, as well as all the administrative functions for my talent agency.

In the course of filling bookings for BD I met some folks who later joined my LIFE community, and several of the entertainers working with BD have joined LIFE as well. Even if you never build a business with LIFE the material will help you find better results in your career, your relationships and your finances.

At this point I’ve found a balance in which I’m running Balloon Distractions at a profit, paying off debt, and building my LIFE community. The only limit on my LIFE income is the number of people “out there”, so I’m going to continue to share the LIFE plan and see how far it can take me.
