When I started Balloon Distractions in 2003 I spent money on balloons, gas in my car, and a website. My costs were low as long as we stayed local.
When we started to branch out to Miami, Houston, Atlanta and Raleigh I went on the road and started to spend money on hotels. As we branched out to the Midwest and Southern California our costs expanded to include plane tickets.
Even though I stayed at bare bones hotels and flew on Southwest I still spent $10,000 to $20,000 per year on travel costs.
We also had to build an online scheduler to organize our team, we spent over $80,000 developing that software over the last decade.
In 2014 I started a business with Life Leadership. I thought that I would need to travel again… but in the last 3 months everything has changed.
Now we call someone in California and ask them to watch a video on our website:
Cost to make the call: $0 !!!
If our prospect in California wants to learn more about LIFE we get on a teleconference call on Zoom.us.
Cost to get on a Zoom call: $0 !!!
If the prospect wants to join us and go debt free we can get them started right on the Zoom call. If they do NOT want to join us we simply thank them and move on.
Just in the past WEEK we’ve started new teams in Las Vegas and Newfoundland!
My cost to start these 2 new teams: $0, plus 20 minutes on a zoom call.
Life Leadership already has the product, the training systems, the nationwide team, customer support in Cary, NC. I don’t have to spend a dime to develop that stuff.
The IT infrastructure is robust: from my personal website, to the LIFE videos online, to how all the training downloads to my smartphone.
Very low cost, simple to build, all I have to do is make a few phone calls everyday.
I already have a small team making calls each day and growing the business. We just need to keep going.
Building a community is a marathon, not a sprint. It took me years to build Balloon Distractions to a nationwide community, we now have a stable team and long term clients.
My Life Leadership business is only limited by my desire to build it.
If you want to try your hand at entrepreneurship, yet you are worried about the cost of starting a business we should have a conversation.
Please comment on this blog and I’ll reach out to you,
Have a great week!
